Kumasi: Ghanaian musician and social media personality Oseikrom Sikani has opened up about why many people perceive him as selfish, claiming that some women make excessive financial demands shortly after getting to know him.
According to Ghana Web, the rapper shared in a recent interview with ZionFelix that he has no problem supporting a woman financially, but loses interest when he feels the requests are unreasonable. Oseikrom Sikani mentioned that he has been labeled as selfish due to his refusal to comply with these demands.
“I’ve heard people say that I’m selfish. When I call these women to have fun with them, it won’t take more than 10 minutes, and they’ll be requesting a huge amount of money. I won’t get such money for them,” he said.
He explained that while modest requests are acceptable, he believes some women ask for sums that are difficult to justify. “If it’s a normal amount like GH?200, then it’s fine, but some request GH?10,000,” he stated.
The rapper further questioned the rationale behind such requests, especially from individuals who have not traveled beyond their hometown of Kumasi. “Meanwhile she’s been in Kumasi all her life; she hasn’t come to Accra yet, but she’s requesting GH?10,000. How much will she take when she visits Accra and returns?” he asked.
Oseikrom Sikani noted that these experiences have made him cautious about getting involved with many women, insisting that he is not the womanizer some people believe him to be. “Because of this, I don’t like being around a lot of women. Those who know me very well know that I’m not a womanizer,” he emphasized.
He added that regardless of how attracted he is to someone, excessive financial demands are enough to make him walk away from the relationship. “No matter how much I like you, when you request an unreasonable amount from me, I won’t be interested anymore. I don’t know the kind of heart ladies of nowadays have; they don’t have empathy,” he added.
