Accra: Ghana has successfully secured the final installment of $360 million from a $3 billion bailout package approved by the International Monetary Fund (IMF). This financial assistance aims to support the nation's economy, which has been facing various challenges.

According to Ghana Web, the completion of this bailout comes as the government navigates the financial conditionalities imposed by previous agreements. These conditions have been a topic of discussion and concern among various political and economic stakeholders in Ghana. Notably, Ato Forson from NPP highlighted how the IMF conditionalities have limited the country's spending capabilities.

In a related development, there has been significant discourse regarding the proposed sale of the Volta Aluminum Company Limited (VALCO). The ICU has petitioned former President Mahama concerning this issue, amid rumors of Ibrahim Mahama's interest in acquiring the company. However, Ibrahim Mahama has denied these claims and is considering legal action to address the misinformation.
