Ghana Library Authority and Creative Arts Agency Discuss Collaborative Efforts to Boost Literacy and Creativity

Accra: The Acting Executive Director of the Ghana Library Authority, Ziblim Alhassan, has engaged in a strategic meeting with the leadership of the Creative Arts Agency of Ghana to explore a collaboration aimed at enhancing Ghana's creative and literacy sectors. This meeting focused on strengthening the relationship between the two bodies to foster growth in these areas.

According to Ghana Web, the meeting was held on Monday, March 2, 2026, and was attended by officials from both institutions. The Creative Arts Agency's Acting Executive Secretary, Gideon Aryeequaye, led the discussions on behalf of the agency. The primary focus was on identifying practical areas for partnership, with an emphasis on promoting a reading culture, nurturing young creative talents, and transforming library spaces into dynamic hubs for arts, culture, and innovation.

Both institutions explored how public libraries in Ghana could serve dual purposes as centers for reading and research, as well as platforms for discovering and developing creative potential within communities. The discussions highlighted opportunities for joint programs, skills development workshops, capacity-building initiatives, and community-based engagements designed to support Ghana's expanding creative economy.

The leadership of the two agencies also considered ways to align their mandates to ensure that literacy development supports broader national efforts to enhance the arts and creative industries. The engagement reaffirmed the commitment of both the Ghana Library Authority and the Creative Arts Agency to empower young people and strengthen the connection between literacy, creativity, and national development.
