Accra: The inauguration of the Austrian Cultural Forum Accra has marked a new phase in cultural diplomacy between Ghana and Austria, with officials describing the centre as a vital link connecting both nations through arts, education, and innovation. Speaking at the opening ceremony in Accra on Wednesday, February 25, 2025, Ghana's Deputy Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts (MoTCCA), Yussif Issakah Jajah, characterized the forum as 'a bridge between continents,' signaling a fresh chapter in bilateral relations.
According to Ghana Web, the event brought together key players from the diplomatic and creative sectors, including Austria's State Secretary, Sepp Schellhorn, who joined stakeholders to formally launch the initiative. The forum is expected to function as a hub for collaboration across academia, science, and the creative arts.
Planned activities for the forum include promoting cultural exchange, sustainable tourism, heritage preservation, and joint creative projects between Ghanaian and Austrian institutions.
