Achimota: GH Schools, a collective of specialized institutions including GH Media School, GH Cosmetology School, GH Fashion School, GH Catering School, and GH Technology School, proudly graduated its 21st batch of students in a lively two-day celebration at their Achimota Abofu Junction premises.
According to Ghana Web, the event, which unfolded on June 26 and June 27, 2026, was attended by students, lecturers, family members, industry stakeholders, and distinguished guests. This gathering celebrated the achievements of students who completed their rigorous two-year programs. The first day saw graduates from GH Cosmetology School, GH Fashion School, and GH Catering School receive their honors, while the second day was dedicated to graduates from GH Media School and GH Technology School.
The graduates were recognized for their training in Media and Technology, Fashion Design and Technology, Catering and Event Management, and Cosmetology. Certificates were awarded as part of the ceremony, with exceptional students receiving industry-specific tools and equipment to aid their entry into the professional world. Cosmetology students were gifted hair dryers, Fashion Design students received industrial sewing machines, Catering graduates were provided with professional equipment, Media students were awarded laptops, and Technology students received relevant industry tools.
Zakaria Sulemana, Director-General of the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET), lauded GH Schools for its role in enhancing Ghana's skilled workforce through hands-on training. He emphasized the importance of producing job-ready graduates and advocated for stronger collaborations between educational institutions and industries, particularly through practical workplace experiences.
Sulemana highlighted the significance of private sector institutions like GH Schools in equipping young people with essential skills, stressing the need for graduates to be prepared for employment upon completing their education. He also commended GH Schools' flexible learning model, which enables professionals to upskill or reskill efficiently.
Leslie Addo Listowel, Director of GH Schools, reiterated the institution's commitment to competency-based practical training. He mentioned that students must demonstrate practical competence before progressing each semester, with training provided by industry professionals using equipment that meets industry standards.
Listowel encouraged graduates to maintain a focus on excellence and let their skills speak volumes in their careers.
