GFA secures $250,000 Access Bank sponsorship deal for Division One League

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) have announced that they have reached an agreement with Access Bank as the new headline sponsor for the National Division One League.

The sponsorship according to the GFA boss, Kurt Okraku is worth $250,000.

The Division One League has been played for the past five years without a headline sponsor after GN Bank withdrew its financial packages in 2017.

“The Ghana Football Association [GFA] has successfully sealed a $250,000 partnership deal with Access Bank Ghana Limited that will see the bank come on board ad official bankers of the FA and also headline sponsors of the National Division One League,” Kurt Okraku confirmed the news at the 28th Extraordinary Congress.

“Melcom Ghana will provide vouchers worth Gh¢ 5000 to each Division One League club for the next two years,” he added.

However, the details of the deal are yet to be revealed but it is believed to be a lucrative one for the league.

Earlier this month, The Ghana Football Association announced Betpawa and Malta Guinness as official headline sponsors of the Ghana Premier League and Women’s Premier League.
