Dormaa-ahenkro: Nana Kumi Agyemang, the Public Relations Officer of the Dormaa Central Municipal Directorate of Education, has advised families, particularly those in rural communities, to provide meals for their children taking the ongoing Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). He emphasized that feeding the candidates is not the responsibility of the government, noting that no provisions for food will be made at the examination centers.
According to Ghana News Agency, Nana Agyemang reiterated the importance of family support during an interview, stating, "Families are expected to provide their children with meals to comfortably sit for the BECE." The directorate had previously met with stakeholders, including parents and guardians, to discuss and address emerging issues, urging families to contribute to creating a conducive atmosphere for candidates to excel in the examination.
Nana Agyemang, alongside Mr. Philip Adom Danso, the Acting Dormaa Central Municipal Director of Education, visited various BECE centers in the municipality. They commended the behavior of candidates, invigilators, and supervisors, highlighting the smooth progress of the examination without any reported irregularities.
He expressed optimism that the confidence exhibited by the candidates would translate into better grades, reinforcing the importance of parental support during this critical examination period.
