French President Macron Receives Royal Welcome in Morocco.

Rabat: French President Emmanuel Macron and his spouse, Brigitte Macron, arrived in Rabat on Monday afternoon for a three-day state visit to Morocco. They were warmly received by Moroccan King Mohammed VI, along with Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, Prince Moulay Rachid, and Princesses Lalla Khadija and Lalla Meryem at the Rabat-Salé Airport at approximately 3:20 PM. According to Ghana News Agency, President Macron's visit, his second since 2018, comes at the invitation of King Mohammed VI. The invitation was extended in July after France expressed support for Morocco's sovereignty over the disputed Western Sahara territory. Upon arrival, President Macron was honored with a 21-gun salute by the Royal Guard. Following the arrival ceremony, President Macron and Madam Brigitte Macron participated in a traditional milk and date offering ceremony. The streets of Salé and Rabat were adorned with Moroccan and French flags, and thousands of local residents lined the route of the royal procession, cheering and capturi ng the moment as the two leaders paused to greet the crowd. As the procession reached the 'Bab Assoufara' gate, it was accompanied by the fanfare and cavalry of the Royal Guard to Mechouar Square at the Royal Palace. This ceremonial welcome underscored the strong ties between Morocco and France. At Mechouar Square, President Macron was welcomed by various dignitaries, including the Head of Government, Parliamentary Speakers, the King's Advisors, and judiciary officials. During his visit, President Macron is expected to sign several bilateral agreements with Morocco, focusing on renewable energy, new technologies, education, and culture. Additionally, he is scheduled to address the Moroccan Parliament on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, before concluding his visit with more official engagements leading up to his departure on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.
