Accra: Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Foreign Affairs Minister, has congratulated Apostle Jacob-Paul Aheto, a Ghanaian missionary, for his appointment as Global Ambassador of the Association of Christians Ministering among Internationals (ACMI). The ACMI serves as the global umbrella body for international student ministry (ISM) organisations worldwide. Apostle Jacob-Paul Aheto has also been appointed as City Director for the International Students Ministries Canada (ISMC), one of the leading ISM organisations in North America. Mr Ablakwa expressed his pride in Apostle Jacob-Paul's achievements, stating, "Congratulations my brother. Ghana is proud of you."
According to Ghana News Agency, the ISMC announced the appointments in a statement released in Accra. The statement highlighted that Apostle Jacob-Paul's new roles signal a new phase in his ministry career following his tenure as National Coordinator of Pan African International Students (PAIS). His focus will be on expanding ACMI's visibility among ISM practitioners globally, initially concentrating on building and strengthening ISM networks across Africa. These appointments encompass both global advocacy and localised community-level ministry delivery.
Apostle Jacob-Paul will leverage his experience as the founding National Coordinator of PAIS to coordinate outreach and discipleship efforts among African international students across multiple countries. Cam Janzen, President and Chief Executive Officer of the ISMC, welcomed the appointments, noting that Apostle Jacob-Paul's background in pan-African student ministry and his familiarity with the Canadian ISM landscape make him a strong fit for the Whitby mandate. Janzen expressed confidence that Apostle Jacob-Paul would bring the necessary relational networks and ministry experience to establish a credible and lasting presence among international students in the Durham Region.
Reflecting on his ACMI appointment, Apostle Jacob-Paul stated that international students are among the most strategically significant yet underserved communities globally. He hopes that through ACMI, the Church can engage with international students not only academically or socially but also spiritually. On his upcoming role with ISMC in Whitby, he emphasized his commitment to building a ministry that supports international students as they navigate their new environments and points them to Christ.
Apostle Jacob-Paul serves as the Lead-Apostle of Authority Chapel International and is the Founder of Jacob-Paul Missions (Ghana). He has been under the mentorship of Apostle Eric Nyamekye, Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, since 2018. He holds a B.Sc. in Psychology from the University of Cape Coast and has completed a certificate and diploma in Missions and Disciplemaking from Christlike Disciplemakers Movement (CDM) Bible College. He is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity at Canada Christian College.
