Anfoega: Personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) at Anfoega in the North Dayi District have rescued a driver trapped in a vehicle after it crashed into an Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) distribution pole at Anfoega-Adame Newtown.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Hope Bedzrah, Volta Regional Public Relations Officer of the GNFS, reported that the accident involved a Hyundai Accent saloon car with registration number GW 6383-17. Personnel from the Anfoega Fire Station, located directly opposite the crash scene, witnessed the incident and quickly responded to conduct rescue operations.
Mr. Bedzrah stated that the rescue team, led by Station Officer I Mr. Franklin Soglo, successfully extricated the trapped male driver from the damaged vehicle. While the driver did not exhibit any visible injuries, fire officers advised a medical examination as a precautionary measure. The damaged vehicle was later towed to the police station to support investigations into the accident's cause.
Firefighters also managed traffic at the scene to ensure safe and smooth movement of motorists during emergency operations. Mr. Bedzrah urged drivers to adhere to road traffic regulations, avoid distractions, and exercise caution to help reduce crashes and protect lives and property. He reaffirmed the GNFS's commitment to prompt emergency response and called on the public to cooperate with emergency responders during accidents.
