Kasoa-tuba: A female occupant sustained injuries while attempting to escape from the first floor of a one-storey building that was engulfed by fire at Kasoa-Tuba near Fulani Junction in the Central Region.
According to Ghana News Agency, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) reported in a Facebook post on Wednesday that the injured woman was taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention. Firefighters were conducting overhaul operations to extinguish remaining hotspots and ensure the area was fully safe.
The GNFS stated that they received a distress call at approximately 0304 hours on Wednesday, reporting a fire incident on the building's top floor. Despite the temporary unavailability of the Kasoa and Weija Fire Tenders, firefighters from the Anyaa Fire Station were promptly dispatched and arrived at the scene by 0339 hours.
By 0530 hours, the combined efforts of firefighters from the Anyaa, Amasaman, and Circle Fire Stations had brought the fire under control. The GNFS reiterated that the female occupant, who sustained injuries while attempting to escape, had been sent to a nearby hospital for treatment.
