Tamale: Musician Fancy Gadam has revealed that he was unaware of Sarkodie's contribution to their hit song "Total Cheat" until after he had completed his own parts. Despite not meeting Sarkodie in the studio or being involved in the writing process, Fancy Gadam was thrilled with the rapper's delivery, especially in the Dagbani language, which resonated with fans.
According to Ghana Web, Fancy Gadam shared in an interview with MC Portfolio that he was surprised by Sarkodie's Dagbani lyrics and praised his fluency, though he had no prior knowledge of how it came together. He explained that after recording the chorus and his first verse, he sent the song to Sarkodie to add his part. Later, his manager informed him of an empty section that required another verse from Fancy Gadam.
While working on the additional verse, Fancy Gadam discovered that producer Possigee was fluent in Dagbani, which was unexpected. He speculated that Possigee, being Sarkodie's producer, might have coached the rapper in the language. Sarkodie's use of the slogan "Tiku Zami, Tibi dwara," meaning "We stand firm, we don't shake," deeply resonated with the people of Tamale, adding to the song's excitement.
Fancy Gadam expressed his joy and surprise upon hearing Sarkodie's verse, which included his popular Dagbani slogan. The revelation of Sarkodie's involvement left him and his team shouting with joy, as it added a significant impact to "Total Cheat."
