Excited Callum Hudson-Odoi poised to enjoy German Bundesliga after joining Leverkusen

Ghanaian winger, Callum Hudson-Odoi says he is delighted he has joined Bayer Leverkusen for the 2022/23 football season.

The England-born forward on Tuesday morning completed his loan move to the German Bundesliga club after an agreement with his parent club, Chelsea.

“Bayer 04 Leverkusen have reacted to the long-term injuries to offensive players Karim Bellarabi and Amine Adli by signing Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea. The England international has signed on a 12-month loan deal from the Premier League,” the German Bundesliga club has announced in an official statement.

Giving his first thoughts after the deal was signed, Callum Hudson-Odoi said he cannot wait to get started to enjoy the German Bundesliga and the Uefa Champions League with his new club.

“The move to Germany is really exciting for me and I can play in the Champions League with Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

“That combination is really attractive and I’m keen to get to know the club, the fans, and the Bundesliga. Kai Havertz only had good things to say about it to me in the Chelsea dressing room,” Hudson-Odoi noted.

The 21-year-old despite having been capped three times by England, is still eligible to play for Ghana, the country of his parents.

Ahead of the world cup, the talented forward is reportedly considering making the switch to play for the Black Stars.
