Accra: An Accra High Court has granted bail to the former Chief Executive Officer of the National Food Buffer Stock Company Limited (NAFCO), Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba, and his wife, Faiza Seidu Wuni, over allegations of fraud, theft, abuse of office, and causing financial loss to the state.
According to Ghana Web, Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba was granted bail in the sum of GHS60 million, while his wife was granted bail in the sum of GHS3.5 million. The two accused persons, who are alleged to have caused the loss of over GHS50 million in public funds, are required to provide two justified sureties each as part of their bail conditions.
In addition to the bail terms, the High Court imposed restrictions on their international travel while the case remains ongoing. The court also directed the accused persons to deposit their passports with the court registry and report to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) once every two weeks. The accused persons have been given until May 21, 2026, to fully satisfy all bail conditions, including securing the required sureties and completing all administrative processes tied to their release.
On the prosecution side, the court directed the state to file all witness statements and disclosures within seven days where they have not already been submitted. The ruling followed the two accused persons' plea of not guilty to a revised 20-count charge sheet filed by the Attorney General's Department after their appearance before the High Court. Meanwhile, the case has been adjourned to May 28, 2026, at 12:00 noon for a Case Management Conference (CMC).
