Ellembelle District Assembly Earmarks 24-Hour Economy Market at Aiyinasi

Ellembelle: The Ellembelle District Assembly is set to build a 24-Hour Economy Market Centre at Aiyinasi as part of the government's flagship 24-Hour economic policy to boost trade and commerce in the area. According to Ghana News Agency, four other market centres are to be built at Nralekyi, Nralekpole, Anokyi, and Atuabo, all within the Ellembelle District. Mr. Theophilus Tamatey-Agbo, District Planning Officer of Ellembelle, announced this initiative at a public hearing on the Medium Term Development Plan from 2026 to 2029 at Nkroful in the Western Region. The meeting provided participants and stakeholders within the district the opportunity to contribute to the four-year development plan. Mr. Tamatey-Agbo stated that the Assembly intends to expand existing market infrastructure and construct modern markets to enhance revenue derived from Internally Generated Funds. This revenue would be used to execute projects and spearhead the development of the area. In a speech read on his behalf, Mr. Joseph Armah Agyekum, District Chief Executive of Ellembelle, emphasized that the Assembly would intensify its revenue mobilisation efforts to increase internal revenue for project implementation. He urged the staff of the Assembly to work diligently to achieve the goals of the decentralization process and reduce the burden on the central government.
