Accra: Media personality Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah has taken a swipe at Prophet Kofi Oduro following a viral video in which the prophet pleaded with Ghanaians to cut Prophet Bernard ElBernard some slack. Over the weekend, a video of Prophet Kofi Oduro surfaced on social media, capturing him appealing to the public to show mercy to Prophet ElBernard after his prophecy that Kennedy Agyapong would win the NPP primaries failed to materialise. Following the video, several netizens criticised Prophet Oduro, accusing him of exhibiting double standards.
According to Ghana Web, reacting to the backlash, Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah, in a separate video, has also criticised the prophet, accusing him of acting out of personal interest and questioning his credibility as a man of God. The media personality labelled Kofi Oduro a hypocrite, noting his harsh criticism of Rev Kusi Boateng when his prophecy concerning the 2024 general election failed, yet defending Prophet ElBernard in a similar scenario.
Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah expressed his views on the perceived hypocrisy in Ghanaian society, highlighting the disparity in reactions to failed prophecies. He questioned why Prophet ElBernard should be forgiven for his incorrect prediction while Rev Kusi Boateng faced severe criticism for a similar prophecy. Okatakyie also accused Kofi Oduro of having political motivations, suggesting he has affiliations with the NDC and a familial connection to Julius Debrah.
Furthermore, Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah labeled Kofi Oduro a liar with political ambitions, accusing him of desiring a change in government due to his alleged ties to the Chief of Staff. He criticized Oduro for using the pulpit to promote personal interests rather than contributing to national discourse. Okatakyie urged the prophet to be transparent about his political affiliations and stop hiding behind religious platforms.
