ACCRA: The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced revisions to the ballot statistics for 20 polling stations, a move that affects the preparations for the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections. The adjustments involve changes to voter counts and the provision of additional ballot booklets, which have been communicated to political parties and printing firms. According to Ghana News Agency, the revisions follow decisions made by the District Registration Review Officers and the High Courts, alongside updates made after the Re-Exhibition of the Provisional Voters Register. A statement issued by Mr. Samuel Tettey, Deputy Chairman in charge of Operations at the EC, confirmed that the changes have been implemented and detailed schedules of the affected polling stations have been made available to the public. Notably, the Temp Booth Bekyedergangn polling station in the Nandom Constituency, Upper West Region, experienced the most significant change, with the voter count increasing from 296 to 404, necessi tating an additional 94 ballots. In contrast, the smallest adjustment of a single ballot was recorded at three polling stations: D/C JSS Aboifie in the Amenfi West Constituency, and Methodist Primary School, Taha, and Dar-El Uluum Islamic Primary School, both in the Tamale North Constituency. The revised statistics have been shared with political parties, independent presidential candidates, and printing firms to ensure accurate ballot provisions for the upcoming elections. The EC's efforts aim to address discrepancies and ensure a smooth electoral process.
