Baku:A leading member of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Razak Kojo Opoku, has addressed a social media post towards former presidential aspirant Dr. Kobina Arthur Kennedy, criticizing his ongoing criticisms of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
According to Ghana Web, Dr. Kojo Opoku subtly rebuked Dr. Arthur Kennedy for suggesting that Nana Akufo-Addo should be removed from the party following its defeat in the 2024 elections. Dr. Opoku argued that such a decision cannot be based on Dr. Arthur Kennedy's personal grievances and questioned the persistence of his resentment towards Akufo-Addo.
Dr. Opoku pointed out that sidelining Akufo-Addo would mean dismissing significant initiatives like Free SHS, warning against harboring long-term personal dislikes. He cited the reconciliation of former party chairman Paul Afoko and former General Secretary Kwabena Agyapong with Nana Akufo-Addo as examples of resolving past differences.
His comments follow Dr. Arthur Kennedy's recent criticism of Nana Akufo-Addo, where he emphasized that the NPP should focus on addressing voter concerns instead of just security arrangements for the 2028 elections. Dr. Kennedy highlighted that 1.25 million NPP supporters voted for John Dramani Mahama in 2024, suggesting this as a significant issue for the party.
