Accra: The Member of Parliament for Effiduase-Asokore, Dr. Nana Ayew Afriye, has strongly criticized recent prophecies made by Reverend Isaac Owusu-Bempah, the Founder and Leader of the Glorious Word Power Ministries International, regarding the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) presidential candidate for the 2028 general election, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
According to Ghana Web, Dr. Ayew Afriyie voiced his disapproval during an interview on Asempa FM on September 9, 2026. When questioned about Reverend Owusu-Bempah's statements and his prophecy concerning the NPP, the MP responded with frustration, urging the public to disregard the preacher's words. He emphasized, 'OB, forget about that false prophet. Forget about him. He is intimidating people. Read your Bible and get it right.'
Reverend Isaac Owusu-Bempah has been vocal about his determination to block Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia from ascending to political power, asserting that the NPP has no potential of winning the 2028 general election. His remarks, made during a church service on August 9, 2026, were framed in religious terms, with the preacher citing past disputes as the foundation for his opposition.
The preacher pledged to actively work against the NPP's return to power, declaring, 'So far as I'm alive, I won't sit down for Bawumia to win power and come and disturb Christianity. I will curse anyone who votes for the NPP.' Reverend Owusu-Bempah further elaborated on a personal conflict with the party, stating that what he perceives as past wrongdoings by the NPP has fueled his commitment to ensuring the party's downfall.
