Do you know I’m the reason you have a voice? – Reggie Rockstone quizzes disrespectful netizens

Ghanaian hiplife gate opener Reggie Rockstone has reacted to the disrespectful attitudes of some Ghanaian youths on Twitter.

Known otherwise as the hiplife Grandpa, the seasoned singer deemed such uncultured behaviour disturbing and worrisome.

Making a contribution on Accra-based 3FM’s showbiz 927, he noted that those who sometimes insult him forget who he actually is.

According to him, young men in the country now have a voice to speak and be heard because he paved the way.

The dreadlocked man said he is also the reason people can now wear dreadlocks without getting criticised as harshly as they used to.

“Sometimes I do worry because young people will come to Twitter and talk the most trash to an old Gee. And I’m thinking to myself, do you realize I am the most important person to you young people? I’m the reason you have a voice. I’m the reason you can wear your dreadlocks. You can do this and do that,” he said.

A few weeks ago, Reggie Rockstone caused a stir after he invited one of the most notorious netizens on the Ghanaian Twitter space, Albert Nat Hyde, known in the space as Bongo Ideas, to his house for dinner.

This follows a disrespectful comment from the netizens against him, which many felt should have been punishment rather than giving him an opportunity on top.
