Constitutional Review Committee to Present Final Report to President Mahama

Accra: The Constitutional Review Committee (CRC) is set to present its final report to President John Dramani Mahama today at the Presidency in Accra. This significant event marks the culmination of a thorough review process of the 1992 constitution conducted by the committee. According to Ghana News Agency, the presentation will occur at 1400 hours, as announced by the Presidency. The CRC, chaired by Professor H. Kwasi Prempeh, Executive Director of the Ghana Centre for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana), was established with the mandate to assess and propose necessary amendments to the nation's constitution. The eight-member committee includes notable figures such as Justice Sophia Adinyira, a former Supreme Court Judge; Professor Kwame Karikari; Mrs. Charlotte Osei; Dr. Godwin Djokoto; Ibrahim Tanko Amidu; Dr. Esi Ansah; and Dr. Rainer Akumperigeya. These members have worked collaboratively since their inauguration on January 30 to ensure a comprehensive review. Initially, the committee was expected to submit its findings in August. However, due to the extensive nature of the work required, they requested an additional three months to complete their task, leading to today's presentation.
