Dar es salaam: The Chinese and Russian embassies in Tanzania marked the 30th anniversary of their strategic partnership and the 25th anniversary of their Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation with a cultural event in Dar es Salaam.
According to Ghana News Agency, the event, hosted by both embassies, featured a screening of the co-produced film "Red Silk" at the Russian Cultural Center. This event celebrated the deepening ties and collaboration between China and Russia.
Chinese Ambassador to Tanzania, Chen Mingjian, highlighted that China-Russia relations are at their highest point in history, serving as a model for major-country relationships. Similarly, Russian Ambassador to Tanzania, Andrey Avetisyan, emphasized the unprecedented level of bilateral ties, underscored by regular high-level exchanges and growing trade conducted in national currencies. He also noted the expansion of humanitarian and cultural exchanges, including visa-free travel arrangements.
Tanzanian Minister for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, Paul Makonda, underscored the role of cultural diplomacy in enhancing international friendship and understanding. He remarked on the importance of film in preserving history and fostering dialogue, expressing Tanzania's eagerness to strengthen cooperation with China and Russia in the creative industry.
