Dormaa-ahenkro: Mr Pius Enam Hadzide, the Campaign Spokesperson for Dr Bryan Acheampong, one of the Election 2028 Presidential hopefuls of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has stated that electing Dr Acheampong will ensure unity and maintain discipline within the party. He believes this strategic move will position the NPP favorably to secure victory in the 2028 elections.
According to Ghana News Agency, the NPP has scheduled its presidential primary for January 31, 2026, to choose a flagbearer for the 2028 general election. Dr Bryan Acheampong is among five aspirants, including Mr Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, Mr Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, former Vice President Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, and Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum.
In a meeting with NPP delegates at Dormaa-Ahenkro in the Bono Region, Mr Hadzide emphasized Dr Acheampong's attributes, describing him as someone with strong character and principles. He expressed confidence in Dr Acheampong's ability to unite the party and lead it to victory in the upcoming election.
Dr Acheampong, alongside his campaign team, visited the Dormaa Central constituency to garner support from delegates as part of his campaign tour in the Bono Region. Mr Hadzide drew parallels with past leaders like Dr Hilla Liman, Dr K. A. Busia, and President John Dramani Mahama, noting that they all won elections on their first attempts, suggesting Dr Acheampong could achieve the same in 2028.
Mr Hadzide concluded by stating that Dr Acheampong's candidacy is not just about winning the party's primary but also about promoting progressive national development and ensuring the welfare of party members.
