Accra: Ghanaian rapper and hip-hop artiste, Frank Nana Afrane, also known as Okese 1, has opened up about his favourite gospel musician in Ghana. In an interview on YFM, the 'Don't Come Too Close' hitmaker disclosed that Brother Sammy holds a special place in his heart, particularly enjoying his song 'Mebo Wodin.' Okese 1 expressed his admiration, saying, "I love Brother Sammy a lot. I like the song 'Mebo Wodin' and he is also a very good friend of mine."
According to Ghana Web, Okese 1 shared insights into his formative years, recalling his time at Kumasi Anglican Senior High School (KASS). He described feeling like a "superstar" during this period due to his academic success. "I've moved past my beef with Medikal," Okese 1 asserted, highlighting his achievements as the best-performing Business student at KASS and his exclusive focus on academics at the time.
The rapper's passion for music blossomed during his tertiary education at the University of Cape Coast (UCC), where he began to take music seriously and embarked on his musical journey independently, without relying on a group of peers. Okese 1 emphasized his versatility in music, noting his ability to experiment with various sounds without confining himself to a single genre. He also mentioned American rapper Young Thug as his favourite rapper, stating, "I can do any type of music. As long as you give me the beat, and I like it, I will do something with it. I can do everything, even gospel."
