Adidokpoe-battor: The Bobobee Royal Youth, a non-governmental organisation, has extended a helping hand to the community of Adidokpoe-Battor in the Volta Region by providing free medical screening and consultation services. These services were offered to over 200 residents, focusing on the aged, women, and children at the Adidokpoe-Battor Chief Palace.
According to Ghana News Agency, the event was organised in collaboration with MK Laboratories, Dela Radio, and the Municipal Directorate of Health. The primary aim was to address the health needs of vulnerable groups in the community and to identify gaps in the local health delivery system.
Mr. Lovelace Edzor Kwadzo Bobobee, representing MK Laboratories, mentioned in an interview that the initiative was a gesture of gratitude to the host community. He assured continuous support from MK Laboratories, which operates in Madina, Accra, and Battor township, to address the health needs of the people through such outreach programmes.
During the outreach, it was noted that the local population, which heavily relies on a CHPS compound in a neighboring town, faced significant health service gaps. Mr. Bobobee described this situation as inadequate, especially given the large population size comprising mostly of the elderly, youth, and other vulnerable groups who require accessible health facilities.
In response to these challenges, MK Laboratories is partnering with development entities to establish a modern health facility in the area. Moreover, the organisation plans to donate test kits monthly, allowing residents to self-monitor health conditions such as blood pressure, sugar levels, and diabetes.
Community members expressed their gratitude to MK Laboratories and its partners for their efforts to enhance local health services.
