Blakofe Criticizes Former Ghanaian Officials Over Alleged Corruption

Sanaa:Former media personality Oheneba Akua Manfo, known as Blakofe, has criticized former President Akufo-Addo's appointees, accusing them of using public office for personal gain following a court ruling on properties belonging to ex-NPA boss Mustapha Hamid.

According to Ghana Web, Blakofe, who served under the Akufo-Addo administration, expressed her belief that some officials entered government with the intent to enrich themselves rather than serving the nation. She stated on social media that she views Akufo-Addo and his appointees as a disappointment for allegedly prioritizing personal benefits over public service.

Blakofe distanced herself from these accusations, explaining that she resigned from her position to avoid engaging in what she termed as 'chopping'. She mentioned that both she and Akwesi, who worked on the return home agenda, chose integrity over personal gain.

Addressing potential backlash, Blakofe rejected claims that her criticism stems from personal animosity towards Akufo-Addo or mental health issues. She emphasized that her decision to prioritize integrity has earned her respect internationally, contrasting with her perception of its reception in Ghana.

Blakofe also criticized Ghana's political culture, condemning the glorification of corruption and the hostility faced by those demanding accountability. She anticipated criticism from political supporters for her outspoken remarks against former government officials.
