London:The Ballon d'Or has announced its list of the top 20 to 30 players in the men's category in anticipation of the official ceremony set to occur in London on October 26, 2026.
According to Ghana Web, the players on this prestigious list include Nuno Mendes, Luis Díaz, Marquinhos, Dayot Upamecano, Bruno Fernandes, Julián Quiñones, and William Saliba, among others. The selection process has reportedly been challenging for voters due to the compelling cases presented by this year's nominees.
The difficulty in choosing among the nominees has led to speculation about a potential tie in the voting process. This situation raises questions about how the award's organizers might resolve such a tie under the current regulations.
Among the leading contenders for the Ballon d'Or are Barcelona's Lamine Yamal, Real Madrid's Kylian Mbappé, and Bayern Munich's Harry Kane. This year marks a departure from tradition as the ceremony will be hosted outside Paris for the first time since 2019, taking place in London, England, to honor Stanley Matthews, the inaugural winner of the award.
