Awutu-Senya Assembly Re-Elects Francis Yaovi as Presiding Member

Accra: The Awutu-Senya District Assembly has re-elected Mr. Francis Yaovi as the Presiding Member for a two-year term. The election took place during the Second Ordinary Meeting of the Third Session of the Fifth Assembly at Awutu Bereku, the district capital.

According to Ghana News Agency, the election was supervised by a team from the Awutu-Senya District Directorate of the Electoral Commission, led by Linda F. Owusu. Mr. Yaovi, who was the only candidate at the nomination's end, received the endorsement of 30 out of the 34 Assembly Members present.

Madam Annie Adobor, Justice of the Awutu Magistrate's Court, administered the oath of allegiance and office to Mr. Yaovi. She advised him to honor the trust placed in him by the Assembly Members and to collaborate with all members for the district's progress.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Yaovi expressed gratitude and committed to working cooperatively with the Assembly Members, the District Chief Executive (DCE), and the Member of Parliament (MP) for the socio-economic advancement of Awutuman.

Mr. Eghan Kalala Nyamekye, the DCE, thanked the members for their maturity in re-electing the Presiding Member and emphasized the importance of unity for successful development projects. He urged members to support Mr. Yaovi to ensure effective operations.

The District Chief Executive highlighted that last year, the Assembly completed several projects, including the construction of boreholes, school buildings, health facilities, road improvements, and the distribution of items to Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).
