Assemblies of God Church Celebrates Rev Samuel Amegboe’s Retirement in Awudome Tsito


Accra: An elaborate retirement service was held for Reverend Samuel Kwame Amegboe, the Awudome Tsito Area Head of the Assemblies of God Church, commemorating 22 years of dedicated ministry. The ceremony took place at the Awudome Senior High School Assembly Hall, drawing pastors and their spouses from the Volta South Region, as well as traditional and political leaders.



According to Ghana News Agency, Rev Amegboe, a graduate of the Church’s Bible College in 2003, began his ministry at the New Life Assemblies of God Church in Awudome Tsito. Throughout his career, he has served in various leadership roles, including Regional Coordinator of the Church’s Prison Ministry from 2024 to 2025, Chairman of the Awudome Tsito Zone of the Pentecostal and Charismatic Council from 2023 to 2025, and Vice Chairman of the Awudome Tsito Local Council of Churches from 2023 to 2025. He also contributed as Secretary of the Ho West District of the Church from 2019 to 2022 and was a member of the Awudome Tsito/Peki Peace Building Committee from 2023 onward.



The Church recognized Rev Amegboe as a vessel of the living word, acknowledging his significant impact in leading many to salvation and healing. His legacy of nurturing lives and carrying forward the Church’s vision was celebrated during the ceremony. Pastor Mrs. Esther Asumabire Sakyi praised Mrs. Mercy Amegboe, Rev Amegboe’s wife, for her unwavering commitment and nurturing presence within the community.



Rev Albert Akuamoah, the Volta South Region Treasurer of the Church, delivered a sermon likening Rev Amegboe to Epaphroditus in the Bible, highlighting his steadfastness and dedication to the truth even amidst challenges. Rev Akuamoah urged Christians to emulate the virtues of Rev Amegboe, emphasizing that joy and honor await those who uphold the truth.



Mr. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, Member of Parliament for Ho West, commended Rev Amegboe for his relentless efforts in soul-winning and encouraged Christians to support their leaders through prayer. Togbe Dzegblade IV, Chief of Adaklu Kodzobi, called on the youth to see Rev Amegboe as a role model, confident that he would extend his dynamism to the community.



In recognition of his service, Rev Amegboe received citations from various church bodies and was presented with undisclosed amounts of money by the Church and individuals.
