Lagos: Ify Ekubo, the sister-in-law of the late Alexx Ekubo, has shared her feelings of upset and sorrow following the untimely death of the beloved movie star.
According to Ghana Web, the actor reportedly passed away on Monday, May 11, at a Lagos hospital after battling complications related to kidney cancer. In her heartfelt tribute, Ify expressed her struggle to accept Alexx's death, questioning why he left without bidding farewell to those who loved him. She recounted how he had promised to return her call after their last conversation, which tragically became their final interaction.
Ify expressed her grief in a poignant message, lamenting, "Ikebobo m!!!! Chaiii!!! Words fail me!!! You didn't do well this time around. I hope you're seeing this message. Look how the world is hurting. You left without saying goodbye." She also revealed that they had plans to meet in June in Houston, plans that were abruptly disrupted by his sudden passing.
The grieving sister-in-law admitted there were many unfinished matters and unsaid words between them. "We had a lot to finish up!! Plans for June in Houston! Ikebobo, you did this to me! I am upset! I am not happy, Ikenna! You told me you would call me back after our phone conversation before your birthday. So that was it?!" she lamented.
Furthermore, Ify highlighted the significant role Alexx played in her children's lives, not just as an uncle but as a mentor and elder brother. "You were a mentor to my children and their elder brother. They miss you! They miss their uncle. This is not fair!" she added, underscoring the profound impact of his loss on their family.
