Accra: Spiritual leader Kwabena Asiamah, known as Ajagurajah, has vehemently denied recent claims made by the sister of the late highlife icon Daddy Lumba, asserting that the musician never visited his home prior to his death. Ajagurajah's response comes amidst ongoing controversy surrounding the circumstances of Lumba's passing.
According to Ghana Web, Ajagurajah addressed the allegations through a video on social media, directly refuting claims made by Akosua Brempomaa, Daddy Lumba's sister. Ajagurajah questioned the motives behind dragging his name into the family's affairs and categorically denied any knowledge of Lumba visiting his residence before his demise.
Ajagurajah dismissed the narrative that Daddy Lumba left his house shortly before passing away, emphasizing that he had never interacted with Lumba's driver and referring to the sister's account as inaccurate. 'Lumba has never been to my house. You're saying he left my house, but that's a lie. The day I took Lumba to Tema, there was no driver. It was only Lumba, his young son, Owusu the bodyguard, and me. I have never seen Lumba's driver,' Ajagurajah asserted.
In his statement, Ajagurajah also rebuffed claims that Daddy Lumba died four days following his departure from his residence, labeling such assertions as false. Furthermore, he addressed comments from Ernestina Fosu, another of Lumba's sisters, who alleged that her brother contacted her two days before his death, indicating he was leaving Ajagurajah's home.
Ajagurajah urged the family to seek clarity from the appropriate authorities regarding the whereabouts of Daddy Lumba's body, maintaining that he was not involved and had no information on the matter. 'You said you're looking for your brother's body. It is not with me. Go to the Police or the court and find out where he was buried. I know nothing about it. I don't even watch dead bodies,' he stated.
He further dismissed unfounded social media rumors suggesting his involvement in pushing Daddy Lumba from a storey building, calling these allegations baseless. Despite the ongoing family disputes over Lumba's burial, widowhood rites, and estate administration, Ajagurajah insisted he had not visited Lumba's home posthumously and questioned the perpetual connection of his name to the family's issues.
Daddy Lumba, whose real name was Charles Kwadwo Fosu, passed away on July 26, 2025, at The Bank Hospital in Accra following a brief illness. His family released a statement confirming the details of his death. The legendary musician was interred in December 2025, but almost a year later, Akosua Brempomaa continues to express concerns about potential foul play and remains unaware of the exact burial location.
