Accra Emmanuel Akuoko, captain of Aduana Stars, has said he is confident his side would change their away record in Confederation of African Football (CAF) competitions against Fosa Juniors on Wednesday, April 18, in Madagascar.
The defender’s side has had a rather poor record when it came to away games in CAF competitions, having lost to Raja Casablanca, Al Tahaddy and E.S Setif in this year’s CAF club competitions.
We want to beat them home and away to set a new record, he told GNA Sports in interview.
The Ogya lads walloped Fosa Juniors 6 -1 in the first leg at the Nana Agyeman Badu II Stadium, and would be looking to wrap up the tie with a win to make their qualification to the group stages of the Confederation Cup certain, notwithstanding the tie looks all but over for the Madagascans.
Akuoko said, with full concentration, Fosa would not be able to overturn the tie, especially given the score line recorded in the first leg.
He said his team was more than ready for the game and that the opportunity to show case themselves to the world was more than enough motivation.
On whether Aduana being the only Ghanaian club left in this year’s CAF club competitions, put pressure on the team to perform, the defender said, it’s normal for us and we don’t feel pressured.
