Accra: Adamus Resources Limited has debunked the government's decision to revoke its mining leases, noting that the move was taken without due process and was based on allegations that do not reflect the true state of its operations. This follows the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources' announcement on Sunday, April 26, 2026, that it had revoked the company's mining leases following investigations by the Minerals Commission.
According to Ghana Web, a statement released on Monday, April 27, 2026, by the company said it had taken note of the revocation of its leases covering the Akango, Salman, and Nkroful concessions and was responding 'in the interest of accuracy and public clarity.' It further maintained that it operates as a duly licensed entity under valid permits issued within Ghana's regulatory framework, including approvals from the Minerals Commission and the Environmental Protection Agency, in accordance with the Minerals and Mining Act, 2006 (Act 703).
The company expressed strong rejection of the allegations cited as the basis for the lease revocation, asserting that they do not reflect the actual circumstances surrounding its operations. Concerns were also raised about a breach of due process, with the company noting that it was neither formally notified of the allegations nor given an opportunity to respond.
Adamus Resources emphasized that it was not formally informed of the specific allegations and was not provided the chance to address them as required by Ghana's mining laws. This situation, they argue, undermines established principles of fairness and administrative justice, especially in matters involving long-term investments.
The company firmly denied involvement in illegal mining or unlawful subcontracting, reiterating its commitment to responsible mining and environmental protection. It stated its categorical denial of any involvement in illegal activities or unlawful subcontracting and affirmed its commitment to adhere strictly to Ghana's laws and regulations.
Adamus indicated that it is engaging with relevant authorities to resolve the matter and expressed confidence that a comprehensive examination of the facts will demonstrate its compliance with applicable law.
