In Accra, the Youth Wing of Ghana's ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has made a unified call to its members, emphasizing the importance of collective effort in securing a third consecutive term in office. This call for unity was part of a statement released to congratulate Dr Mahamadu Bawumia on his recent election as the party's flagbearer for the upcoming 2024 General Election.
According to Ghana News Agency, the National Youth Organiser of the NPP, the youth wing's combined energies are pivotal to the party's success in the 2024 elections. The election of Vice President Dr Bawumia as the party's flagbearer occurred on Saturday, November 4. He won with 61.47 percent of the total valid votes, outpacing competitors such as Kennedy Agyapong, Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, and Francis Addai-Nimoh.
The Youth Wing of the NPP has described Dr Bawumia's election as a heralding of a new era and a beacon of hope for both the party and the nation. They expressed their enthusiasm for Dr Bawumia's understanding of the challenges facing Ghana's youth and his vision to address these issues. The statement further asserted the Youth Wing's readiness to support these goals and aspirations, which are seen as crucial for the betterment of the young generation.
The statement also conveyed high expectations from Dr Bawumia, with confidence in his capability to meet these expectations.
