Raymond Archer Confirmed as Executive Director of EOCO

Accra:The Deputy Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Dr. Justice Srem-Sai, has expressed his congratulations to Raymond Archer following his confirmation as the Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

According to Ghana Web, Dr. Srem-Sai took to Facebook on October 29, 2026, to share a photograph of himself with Archer, both embracing and smiling at an event. He captioned the post with, “Congratulations on your confirmation, brother.”

Archer's confirmation officially took effect on October 27, 2026. EOCO Board Chairman Daniel Domelevo confirmed that Archer assumed the substantive role on that date. Archer was initially appointed as Acting Executive Director of EOCO by President John Dramani Mahama in August 2025, following the reassignment of his predecessor, Abdulai Bashiru Dapilah, to the National Security Secretariat, where Dapilah now serves as a technical adviser.

Archer’s confirmation is a significant development as EOCO intensifies its operations to tackle economic and organised crime in Ghana. His background in investigative journalism, especially in uncovering financial improprieties, is anticipated to enhance his leadership of the agency and strengthen its investigative capabilities.
