Accra:Afigya Sekyere East Constituency Executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Afigya Sekyere East have publicly apologized to Agonamanhene, Obirikomfo Anokye Boakye II, following an error in addressing him as ‘Chief’ instead of ‘Paramount Chief’ in an invitation to the MNB Inter-Senior High School Football Tournament.
According to Ghana Web, the apology was prompted by a letter from the Agona Traditional Council, which was addressed to the Member of Parliament for Afigya Sekyere East, Mavis Nkansah-Boadu, regarding the misaddressed invitation.
In their statement, the NPP constituency executives acknowledged the mistake, describing it as a clerical error that was neither intentional nor meant to show any disrespect to the traditional ruler. They expressed deep regret for the inadvertent error and assured Agonamanhene and the Agona Traditional Council that it was not intentional and would not occur again.
The executives accepted responsibility for the mistake and extended an unreserved apology to the paramount chief and the Agona Traditional Council. They affirmed their commitment to ensuring that such errors do not recur in the future.
