NDC Completes Elections for Constituency Executives Nationwide

Accra:The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has successfully concluded its constituency executive elections across Ghana. The elections saw the emergence of new leaders in various constituencies, while some incumbent executives retained their positions.

According to Ghana Web, the newly elected executives are tasked with strengthening the party's organization ahead of the presidential contest against the New Patriotic Party (NPP). The elections resulted in some incumbents losing their seats, while others were re-elected.

In the Adaklu Constituency in the Volta Region, Hayford Amenuvie, formerly the secretary, was elected as the chairman. In the Lawra Constituency, Joseph Bati retained his chairmanship after securing a significant number of votes. The elections also saw a tie in the communications officer role in Lawra, which will require intervention from the party's national headquarters.

Meanwhile, in the Greater Accra Region's Ablekuma North Constituency, Harry Akoto maintained his position as chairman. In the Akatsi South Constituency, Anthony Kojo Owusu was re-elected as chairman for a third term. The elections in various constituencies attracted significant voter turnout, with some areas reporting up to 98 percent participation.

These elections highlight the NDC's preparations and organizational efforts as it gears up for future political contests against the NPP.
