James Agalga Cites Electoral Success as Defense Against Criticism

Accra:Builsa North The Member of Parliament for Builsa North and Majority Leader, James Agalga, has defended his track record as the constituency's representative. He emphasized that his victory in four consecutive parliamentary elections showcases the confidence voters have in his leadership abilities.

According to Ghana Web, Agalga addressed criticisms of his performance during the NDC constituency executives' elections held on Saturday. He suggested that some of the criticism stemmed from political differences, noting that he did not expect applause from those he had defeated in elections, particularly supporters of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Agalga acknowledged that achieving 100 percent support in the constituency was unrealistic but argued that his consistent electoral victories should be considered when evaluating his performance. He challenged his critics to establish clear criteria for judging his effectiveness, stating he could account for his achievements if given the opportunity.

The Builsa North MP also questioned whether his detractors were ignoring the judgment of the majority of voters who had repeatedly elected him to Parliament. On infrastructure, he highlighted his role in initiating a road project, claiming he facilitated President John Dramani Mahama's involvement in 2016. Agalga alleged that the subsequent government halted the project, although details were not fully outlined.

Agalga asserted that assessments of his performance should focus on his accomplishments rather than what he described as politically motivated negative commentary. He expressed his readiness to account for his work in any sector his critics wished to examine.
