NDC Clarifies Stance on Allegations Against Obuasi SHTS Headmaster

Accra:The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has made it clear that it does not condone or conceal any acts of alleged sexual misconduct. The party insists that law enforcement agencies should carry out an independent investigation without political interference.

According to Ghana Web, the General Secretary of the NDC, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, addressed the party's position amid allegations against the headmaster of Obuasi Secondary Technical School, who is affiliated with the NDC.

Kwetey explained that the headmaster was initially asked to step down from an internal party contest, a request followed by his voluntary withdrawal. He emphasized that the party will not protect anyone from legal accountability.

During a media briefing, Kwetey assured that state security agencies would be allowed to investigate the matter comprehensively to uncover the facts. He stated that the party would not interfere, expressing that the truth must be revealed to assure the public that neither the party nor the government shields individuals from justice.

Kwetey clarified that when the directive was given on Monday, party executives had not yet seen the full investigative report by journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni. He reiterated the NDC's commitment to due process, emphasizing that subsequent clarifications were made to uphold procedural fairness while maintaining the accused's presumption of innocence.
