Sege:About 22 people sustained injuries in a road accident at Sege when a Sprinter bus experienced a tyre burst and overturned.
According to Ghana News Agency, the incident occurred at around 1130 a.m. on Friday, October 9, 2026. The vehicle, bearing registration number GW 569-26, was en route from Aflao to Accra when the left rear tyre burst, causing the driver to lose control. The bus veered off course and overturned, injuring those on board, including the driver.
Eyewitness Mr. Evans Doetse Huago reported that some passengers appeared to be traveling from the Volta Region, based on the language they spoke. The injured were taken to the Sege Polyclinic for treatment with help from the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana National Fire Service. The bus was reportedly loaded with goods in the boot and on the roof, which may have added pressure to the tyres.
A nearby welder assisted in transporting the goods to safety with a tipper truck, while police managed the removal of the damaged vehicle. Officials present at the scene did not provide comments to the media.
