Bangkok:Justine Wilson, the ex-wife of Elon Musk, has claimed that Musk terminated their daughter Vivian Jenna Wilson's health insurance a day after she came out as transgender.
According to Ghana Web, Wilson made these allegations in "Musk," a new documentary by filmmaker Alex Gibney. The film delves into the personal life and career of Musk, the head of Tesla and SpaceX. Wilson stated that Musk had assured her of his love for Vivian, but this was followed by the cancellation of her health coverage.
The documentary features Wilson as a key interviewee and explores the strained relationship between Musk and Vivian. Wilson and Musk were married in 2000 and divorced in 2008. They suffered the loss of their first son, Nevada, in 2002.
Wilson noted that tensions between Musk and Vivian began in her early years, recalling an incident where Musk questioned Vivian about being a 'winner' or a 'loser.' Wilson interpreted this as pressure on Vivian to conform to her father's expectations.
Publicly, the relationship between Musk and Vivian has worsened, with Musk making critical remarks about her transgender identity. He previously commented on social media that he had 'lost' Vivian to the 'woke mind virus,' which Wilson said hurt Vivian deeply.
Wilson also criticized Musk's handling of Vivian's transition, comparing it unfavorably to the real loss of their son. She emphasized the importance of accepting children's independence as part of successful parenting.
Musk did not take part in Gibney's documentary, dismissing it as a 'hit piece.' His legal representatives have threatened action over perceived distortions in the film, which will be released nationwide on October 16.
In a separate recent interview, Vivian expressed concerns about artificial intelligence, stating it undermines artistic expression by replacing human emotion with what she called plagiarized elements.
