Sanaa:The President of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), Kwabena Yeboah, is facing scrutiny for his silence on the turmoil within Ghanaian football.
According to Ghana Web, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has been criticized following the resignation of head coach Carlos Queiroz after the Black Stars' defeats in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. Critics accuse the GFA of incompetence, especially regarding the frequent changes in national team coaches, with about seven different managers during Kurt Okraku's seven-year leadership.
Despite the strong criticisms, Yeboah has not made any personal public statements on the issue. Nonetheless, SWAG has called for a comprehensive overhaul of Ghana football and has urged the GFA to step aside.
Some football fans and personalities remain dissatisfied, accusing Yeboah of not being as outspoken as expected. There are allegations that he may have ties with the GFA, citing his participation in international assignments with the Black Stars and the benefits that accompany such trips, which some claim may contribute to his silence on the issues plaguing Ghana football.
