Ga Mantse Appeals for Employment Opportunities for Ga Indigenes

Sanaa:The Ga Mantse, Nii Teiko Tsuru II, has called on the Ministry of Roads and Highways to allocate job opportunities specifically for the indigenes of the Ga State. He believes that such measures would ensure that the local population benefits directly from regional development projects.

According to Ghana Web, the Ga Mantse made this appeal during a visit from the Minister of Roads and Highways, Governs Kwame Agbodza, at the Ga Mantse Palace. Nii Teiko Tsuru II expressed concern over reports of a worker shortage in the roads sector and urged the Ministry to employ more Ga indigenes.

He proposed a quota system for employing Ga indigenes in various sectors, such as engineering and artisan roles. This, he explained, would enable locals to partake in the economic activities and development of the capital region.

Additionally, the Ga Mantse commended the progress on road projects across the Ga State, attributing it to effective supervision and management. He expressed optimism that these efforts would help the government meet its targets ahead of the country's 70th anniversary next year.

Nii Teiko Tsuru II also urged the Ministry to support the Ga Mantse Foundation's initiatives aimed at improving youth welfare. The Foundation has been involved in education, skills development, and youth welfare, including school construction, sanitation projects, and programs to enhance girls' education and vocational training.
