Laryea Kingston Criticizes Lack of Consistency in Black Stars Squad

Accra:Former Ghana international Laryea Kingston has expressed concerns about the current state of the Black Stars, stating that the team lacks consistency and a proper long-term strategy for development.

According to Ghana Web, Kingston highlighted that while Ghana possesses a core group of senior players who have been with the national team for over five years, the frequent introduction of new players before major tournaments disrupts the team's development. He emphasized that these long-serving players should be naturally considered senior members of the squad.

Kingston voiced his dissatisfaction with the changes in the lineup used during qualification campaigns compared to those selected for major tournaments. He noted that many players who participate in qualifiers are often replaced by new faces as tournaments approach, questioning the rationale behind such decisions.

Although he refrained from blaming the team's management, Kingston held the coaches accountable, criticizing them for their lack of firmness in maintaining a consistent squad. He urged the Black Stars technical team to focus on building a stable and settled team that could represent the nation effectively.
