Kuami Eugene Faces Mobile Money Scam Attempt

Accra:Ghanaian musician Kuami Eugene has recounted an incident where he was targeted by a suspected mobile money scam. An individual contacted him, claiming that money had been mistakenly transferred to his mobile money account.

According to Ghana Web, the caller pleaded for forgiveness from Kuami Eugene, explaining that he had already reported the issue to the mobile money office. Initially, he did not believe Kuami Eugene was a genuine person, as he had been unable to reach him.

The office confirmed that the mistake was not on Kuami Eugene's part and advised the caller to provide his merchant number to help resolve the issue. Despite this, Kuami Eugene refused to unblock his account, insisting that the mobile money office should directly refund the caller since they were responsible for blocking his number.

Kuami Eugene suggested that the office could return the money to the caller without involving him further. He declined the caller's request to visit the office, citing a lack of time and preferring to leave his number blocked.

Frustrated by the musician's refusal to cooperate, the caller resorted to insults after failing to persuade him to release the money.
