Bahrain Considers Carlos Queiroz for National Team Coach

Accra:Carlos Queiroz, the former coach of Ghana's national football team, is being considered for the position of head coach for Bahrain's national team following his departure from the Black Stars.

According to Ghana Web, Queiroz recently ended his tenure with the Ghana Football Association after the team suffered a poor start in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Ghana lost their opening match 2-0 to Cote d'Ivoire and subsequently faced a 4-2 defeat against The Gambia, leaving them at the bottom of Group C without any points.

Following his exit from Ghana, Queiroz has entered into discussions with the Bahrain Football Association about possibly taking over as their national team coach. His agent, Tadeo Martins, confirmed that negotiations are currently underway regarding this opportunity.

In addition to this, Martins dismissed rumors linking Queiroz to a position with Wydad Athletic Club, stating that there are no ongoing negotiations with the club. Queiroz has an extensive coaching resume, having worked with national teams such as Egypt and Iraq, and has also been part of coaching staff at top European clubs. His talks with Bahrain represent a potential swift return to international coaching.
