Kintampo: Naa Zakari Musah, the Dagomba Chief in Kintampo North Municipality of the Bono East Region, has urged the various tribes within the municipality to maintain tolerance and peaceful coexistence to foster development.
According to Ghana News Agency, Naa Musah highlighted that peace and unity are essential for the comprehensive development of the municipality. He stressed the importance of harmony among settlers of different tribes, emphasizing that such unity is crucial if development is to flourish. His remarks came during a durbar marking the conclusion of the 2026 annual Dagomba Warriors festival in Kintampo.
The chief further explained that the Dagombas owe allegiance to the Mo and Nkoranza Traditional Paramountcies. The festival, celebrated annually, serves to reinforce unity, love, and the existing peace within the municipality. Naa Musah cautioned against gossip, describing it as the root of evil, and encouraged the Dagombas to avoid it.
He urged the Dagombas to value and contribute to the ongoing peace in the municipality, warning that chieftaincy disputes and conflicts are destructive forces in any community. The festival celebrations included a parade of Dagombas in traditional attire through the main streets of Kintampo Township, accompanied by traditional dancing and drumming.
