Kwahu tafo: Kwaku Obeng has been installed as the new Kwahu Tafo Akwamu Asona Abusuapanin, with a call on him to unite the family and restore peace among its members. The installation brought together family elders, traditional leaders, and other members of the Asona Abusua, who expressed confidence in Kwaku Obeng's ability to provide leadership and foster unity within the family.
According to Ghana Web, speaking after his installation, Kwaku Obeng pledged to work towards bringing all family members together, regardless of their differences. "I will ensure that I bring unity in the family and make sure there is peace among us and not to segregate anybody from the family," he said.
The Kwahu Pitiku Hemaa, Nana Hemaa Dwamenaa, who participated in the process alongside other elders, expressed her happiness over the development. She said the decision to elect Nana Kwaku Obeng was aimed at providing the family with leadership capable of promoting peace and unity. Nana Hemaa Dwamenaa urged the new Abusuapanin to work with all members of the family and ensure that unity remains at the heart of his leadership.
Among those who joined the installation were Nana Ofori Gyebi Kankanfo, Kwahu Kotoso Adehyie Hene, Nana Ampomah Kwakye, Pepease Abusua Panin, Wofa Agyapong; Akosua Afriyie, a family member who oversees the stool house, Barima Nkansah, Akwamu Asona Secretary, Ama Benenwaa, Nana Kwabena Baadu, Ama Serwah, and Abena Sarpomaa alias Maame Tafo, as well as other family elders.
The installation comes after the previous Kwahu Tafo Akwamu Asona Abusuapanin, George Omari Ofori, was destooled following allegations of misconduct. The family has since expressed hope that Kwaku Obeng's leadership will help heal divisions, restore peace, and ensure that family affairs are managed for the benefit of all members.
