Accra: Latifa Teiya Fuseini, the Overall Best Graduating Student of the Ghana School of Law's Class of 2025, has taken another major step in her legal career after gaining admission to Harvard Law School. Fuseini gained national recognition after emerging as the top graduating student among the 824 candidates called to the Ghanaian Bar in 2025.
According to Ghana Web, a post shared on social media by Legal Academy on August 16, 2026, highlighted her outstanding performance at the Ghana School of Law, which earned her the John Mensah Sarbah Memorial Prize. This accolade is the institution's highest honour, awarded to the best all-round student. Additionally, she received the award for Best Student in Conveyancing and Drafting, acknowledging her exceptional academic performance in property transfer and legal documentation.
Before enrolling at the Ghana School of Law, Fuseini graduated with First Class Honours from the Faculty of Law at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in 2023, with a Cumulative Weighted Average (CWA) of 71.58. Her academic journey began at Achimota School, where she completed her secondary education in 2019.
Fuseini's accomplishments are not only a testament to her dedication and hard work but also a reflection of her personal mission. She is the daughter of Alhaji A B A Fuseini, a former Member of Parliament for the Sagnarigu Constituency, and her journey into law is driven by a desire to challenge the limited representation of Muslim Dagomba women in the legal profession. In previous interviews, she has expressed that her childhood ambition to become a lawyer was inspired by the historical underrepresentation of women from her background.
Her achievements are seen as a beacon of hope and inspiration for young women, particularly those from Northern Ghana, encouraging them to pursue careers in law and other professions.
