Accra: Ghana's Black Queens secured their place in the quarter-finals of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations after playing out a 1-1 draw with Mali in their final Group D game on Thursday, August 6, 2026. Ghana made a bright start and took the lead in the sixth minute through Alice Kusi, who reacted quickest inside the box to give the Black Queens an early advantage.
According to Ghana Web, the Malians, however, refused to give up and eventually found the equalizer shortly after the restart, with Assata Traor© restoring parity in the 52nd minute. Ghana had opportunities to reclaim the lead but were unable to find a second goal as Mali pushed for a winner.
The draw was enough for the Black Queens to finish second in the group and advance to the knockout stage, while Mali's campaign came to an end despite collecting four points. Ghana will now face Malawi in the quarter-finals.
